Change Your Address

Change your address online. After changing your address, print your own label (for example, a return address label) with your new address and attach it to the back of your driver license, permit or ID card. You will not be mailed a new license, permit or ID card.

By Mail

Download and print the Change of Address form (DR2285). Complete the form and drop it in the mail or deliver to a driver license office. After submitting your change of address request, print your own label (for example, a return address label) with your new address and attach it to the back of your driver license, permit or ID card. You will not be mailed a new license, permit or ID card.

At a Driver License Office

During your appointment, you can pick up a change of address form at a driver license office. Give the completed form to a driver license employee. After submitting your change of address request, print your own label (for example, a return address label) with your new address and attach it to the back of your driver license, permit or ID card. You will not be mailed a new license, permit or ID card.

By Renewing

1. Attempt to renew your driver license or identification card online. You will be able to purchase a new card with the updated address.
2. Visit a driver license office. You will need to purchase a new driver license, instruction permit or identification card to have the new address listed on your document. You will be issued a temporary document while the card is mailed to the address you provide. You may need to provide proof of address documents showing your name and full physical address that are no older than a year. You may also supply a mailing address.
